Simple and Delicious: Fried Spring Chicken

There's nothing quite like the taste of fried chicken, especially when it's fresh out of the frying pan. This recipe is easy to follow and results in some seriously delicious chicken. Best of all, it can be made with ingredients you probably already have on hand.

Ingredients: 1 lb chicken breast, cut into small pieces 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/3 cup vegetable oil 3 tablespoons butter 2 green onions, thinly sliced Directions: 1. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture until well coated. 2. Heat the oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Serve immediately with green onions sprinkled on top. Enjoy!

1.5. The Perfect Fried Spring Chicken Recipe

If there's one thing that I know, it's how to fry chicken! And this is my go-to recipe for perfect results each and every time.

Ingredients: 1 Fryer Chicken (4-5 pounds) 1 1/2 cups Buttermilk 1 cup All-Purpose Flour 3 tsp. Salt 1 tsp. Black Pepper 1/4 tsp. Paprika Coconut Oil or Vegetable Oil for frying

Instructions: 1. Cut up the chicken into 8-10 pieces (or whatever size you prefer). 2. Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl or zip top bag and pour in the buttermilk. 3. Seal the bag or bowl and let it soak in the fridge for at least 2 hours, but preferably overnight. 4. When you're ready to cook, remove the chicken from the buttermilk and discard the liquid. 5. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika. 6. Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture until coated and set aside on a plate. 7. Pour enough oil into a large skillet to fill it about 1 inch deep and heat over medium-high heat until hot. 8. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil (try not to crowd it) and fry for about 4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels before serving hot!

3. Who Knew Fried Spring Chicken Could Be So Good?

I was never a big fan of fried chicken until I had it at a little country restaurant down the road from my house. It's not like anything I've ever had before. The crust is so crispy and flavorful and the meat inside is so juicy and tender.

Ever since then, I've been trying to recreate that recipe at home, and I think I've finally got it. Here's my version of fried chicken:

Ingredients:

-1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs -1/2 cup all-purpose flour -1 tsp salt -1/4 tsp black pepper -1/4 tsp cayenne pepper -1/4 cup vegetable or canola oil -1/2 cup buttermilk or heavy cream -1 tbsp hot sauce, such as Tabasco sauce -2 cups panko bread crumbs -1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley leaves -1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

  3. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture until well coated and set aside.

  4. In another large bowl, whisk together the buttermilk or heavy cream and hot sauce until well combined.

  5. Place the panko bread crumbs in a shallow dish. Working one at a time, dip the chicken into the buttermilk mixture, then coat evenly with the panko bread crumbs. Place on the prepared baking sheet.

  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, flipping once halfway through baking time. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
